Monastic Work

After the monastery was given back to the Cistercians by the Czech authorities a new monastic and spiritual life gradually began. A first step was the foundation of a small cicle of people, the so called Oblaten. These Oblaten promised that their families lived in conformity with the rules of St. Benedikt and that they spiritually help the monastery.

The traditional pilgrimage of the Cistercians to the place of pilgrimage ‚Mariánske Radcice‘ was revived in the middle of the 90th of the last century. Since then, pilgrimages are carried out on the 13th of each month. Beside this spiritual work, the cultural mainly in form of spiritual music started, too.

With the moving out of the nuns the empty rooms had to be used for another purpose. Hence, the idea grew to use the rooms as a shelter for homeless and old people but also as accomodations for visitors. Visitors can stay for a certain time and take part in the monastic life.
